Già da qualche anno il Demodé di Modugno è diventato tempio degli appuntamenti metal più importanti  nel sud Italia. Questo locale, nel giorno della festa della Donna, è stato scelto dai Godyva per presentare dal vivo i brani tratti dal nuovo album Alien Heart.

Alle ore 23.30 le luci della sala si spengono, sulle note introduttive di “Apocalypse Fire” i componenti della band prendono posto e al centro della scena si materializza Lei, Lady Godyva, affascinante vestale in abito nero, longilinea ed elegante padrona di casa.

Sulla parete di fondo scorrono le immagini dell’artwork del disco e del logo della band, per quella che si rivela una scenografia semplice ed efficace. I nuovi pezzi (“Brainstorm”, “Everything Is Over”, “This Light”) si susseguono intervallati da brevi pause durante le quali la cantante dialoga e scherza amichevolmente con il pubblico. La platea viene scossa dal riff di “Alien Heart”, perfetto concentrato di potenza e melodia che si apre in un ritornello a due voci di grande impatto.

Il gruppo è in forma smagliante: il nuovo chitarrista G.G. Gohm macina  accordi e assoli sempre funzionali all’economia dei brani; la sezione ritmica di Nick ed Enyo viaggia compatta,  i due si intendono a meraviglia e la naturalezza con cui suonano è indice della loro bravura; l’incessante lavoro di Botys alle tastiere crea un tappeto di note che consente ai pezzi di volare in alto.

Lady Godyva (chi meglio di lei poteva onorare la festa della Donna?) si mette in luce per la sua vocalità pulita e potente, che si lascia apprezzare in modo particolare nella riuscita cover di “I Feel You (Ti Sento)” dei Matia Bazar.

Nella scaletta trovano posto anche i brani migliori della precedente produzione e così il party si arricchisce di ospiti speciali, infatti durante l’esecuzione di “Planetarium” e “Cold” salgono sul palco rispettivamente Anto e Frahn, i primi chitarristi della band.

“In Your Eyes” segna il momento più intimo della serata, Ivan Piepoli (componente dei The Baby Screams) scioglie l’atmosfera con la sua acustica e il capolavoro si completa con la commossa interpretazione di Lady Godyva e l’assolo da brivido di G.G..

Dopo oltre un’ora di ottima musica (e un plauso deve essere rivolto anche al tecnico del suono che, grazie ad un corretto settaggio dei volumi, ha reso udibile tutte le sfumature e le finezze degli arrangiamenti), il concerto giunge al termine con la conclusiva “I Stay Here”, la soddisfazione dei presenti e quella dei musicisti è palpabile. Lo spettacolo è stato magnifico, degno dei grandi professionisti e soprattutto di elevata qualità.

Gli amanti del metal che mescola aggressività e dolcezza, riff energici e melodie di classe, da oggi possono dormire sonni tranquilli perché ad accontentare i loro gusti in circolazione c’è una nuova certezza: i Godyva.

“Demodè  disco club”  in  Modugno (near Bari) has become the temple of the most important appointments metal in southern Italy. This location, on the  “International  Women’s Day”, has been chosen by Godyva to present live tracks from the new album  Alien Heart. Lights off  at 11.30 P.M.,  on the initial notes of "Apocalypse Fire" the band take place and  at center stage  materializes  Lady Godyva, charming vestal in black dress, slender and elegant. On the back of the drum  scroll  the images of the artwork of the disc and the band's  logo, this set design is  simple and effective. The band plays  new songs: "Brainstorm", "Everything Is Over" and "This Light". During short pauses the singer talks and jokes amicably with the public. The audience is shocked by the riff of "Alien Heart", a perfect combination of power and melody that opens in a refrain for two voices with great impact. The group is in great shape, the new guitarist G.G. Gohm grinding chords and solos  always functional  to the economy of the songs;  the rhythm section of Nick and Enyo plays compact, the way they work  is an indication of their skill;  the incessant work on keyboards of  Botys creates a carpet of notes which allows songs of flying high.

Lady Godyva (who better than Lady Godyva could honor the “International  Women's Day”?) shines for its clean and powerful vocal style, which can be appreciated especially in the successful cover of "I Feel You (Ti Sento)" (song originally played by Italian pop band Matia Bazar). In the setlist  there are also the best songs of the previous production, and so the party is enriched by special guests, in fact, during the execution of "Planetarium" and "Cold" go on stage  Anto and  Frahn respectively, the first guitarists in the band. "In Your Eyes" marks the most intimate moment of the evening, Ivan Piepoli (member  of The Baby Screams) dissolve the atmosphere with his acoustic guitar  and the masterpiece is complete with a moved interpretation of Lady Godyva and the great solo  of G.G.. After over an hour of great music (very congratulations to  the sound engineer, who  made audible all the nuances and sophistication of the arrangements), the concert came to an end with the conclusive "I Stay Here", the satisfaction of the crowd and those of the musicians is palpable. The show was magnificent, very professional  and  above all  high quality. Lovers of metal that mixes aggression and sweetness, energetic riffs and melodies class,  now can be happy because to satisfy their tastes  there is a new certainty:   Godyva.
