Non certo prolifici (il secondo album “Third eye light” è del 2010), hanno comunque mantenuto nel corso degli anni una loro precisa identità musicale ricca di raffinatezza e gusto che contraddistinguono anche “Different earths”, l’ultima fatica discografica. La band ora si erge sulla verve creativa di Alessandro Cavatorti (chitarre e liriche, presente come “guest” nel primo album e membro effettivo nel secondo), di Marco Forella (basso, tastiere, chitarra acustica e batteria, nonché unico componente della formazione storica), di Roberta Piras (flauto, già ospite in “Third eye light”) e di Roberto Minniti (il nuovo vocalist). L’album è dedicato alla memoria di Paolo Raciti (scomparso qualche anno fa) che così tanto aveva contribuito alla realizzazione dei primi due capitoli targati Eris Pluvia. Un lavoro, “Different earths”, delicato, crepuscolare, mai sopra le righe, a tratti malinconico, di estrema ricercatezza, ma al tempo stesso di rilevante fruibilità. 
Ogni ascolto dei 9 brani presenti permette di cogliere nuove sfumature a dimostrazione di quanto la band abbia lavorato di cesello per offrire emozioni sempre nuove. Un sottile fil-rouge lega le varie tracce: l’impatto, spesso negativo, che il comportamento dell’uomo ha sul pianeta Terra che porta alla crescita dell’inquinamento, alle guerre frequenti, alle catastrofi naturali… Un album di “denuncia” (cantato in inglese), ma non solo, come la conclusiva “The door of my soul” (dedicata a Raciti), che ispirata da William Blake, cerca di interpretare cosa ci sia dopo la vita. Un suono sovente molto delicato che ricorda i Camel, che non esclude qualche incursione “floydiana” (la chitarra di Cavatorti) e nei primi Genesis post-Gabriel, ma che rimane decisamente personale.
Apprezzabile la voce di Minniti, che senza particolari equilibrismi vocali, “colora” al meglio la tavolozza a tinte pastello del sound, nobilitato da un esaltante uso del flauto. La relativa semplificazione di alcune parti di batteria non intacca per nulla le composizioni che scorrono fluide e ricche di atmosfera. Veniamo ora a qualche pezzo forte dell’album. Mirabile l’introduzione acustica di “Man on a rope” con chitarra, piano, una soffice ritmica e la voce di Minniti. Una importante “accelerata” condita da un bel guitar-solo e poi il brano ritorna sui binari acustici iniziali sempre con la chitarra in primo piano. Delicatissima, quasi mormorata ed altamente evocativa è “Aqua”, 4 minuti di puro incanto. Ottima anche “Poet’s Island” con il bisbiglio del flauto, la voce lieve, una ritmica essenziale e le tastiere di raccordo: musica che pare accarezzarci, dolce e delicata come non mai. Più oscura “Black rainbow” con il flauto della Piras che addolcisce gli interventi ficcanti dell’elettrica di Cavatorti. Brillante pure “Heroes of the dark star” con una incantevole sezione strumentale, dapprima molto “tirata”, poi più soffusa con il flauto ad accompagnare le ultime fasi del lungo brano. Altra perla emozionante è “Springtime drop” anch’essa tra chitarra acustica e flauto. Chiude “The door of my soul” pervasa da una sottile malinconia ed ideale conclusione di un percorso, quello di “Different earths”, ricco di suggestioni e di emozioni forti. Una caratteristica, quella di suscitare notevoli emozioni, che ha sempre nobilitato la musica degli Eris Pluvia e che ce li fa amare incondizionatamente. Inutile dire che siamo di fronte ad un album davvero magnifico che è doveroso avere.

"Rings of earthly light", published in 1991, is still considered one of the artistic heights of the progressive Italian post 70s. Many years have passed since that charming debut, but Eris Pluvia, albeit with an almost completely new band, are still here to delight us with their wonderful music.
Hardly prolific (the second album "Third eye light" has been released on 2010), they have maintained over the years their own musical identity rich in sophistication and taste that distinguish "Different earths", the latest recording effort. The band now stands on the creative verve of Alessandro Cavatorti (guitars and lyrics, present as a "guest" on the first album and a full member in the second one), Marco Forella (bass, keyboards, acoustic guitar and drums, the only component of historical formation ), Roberta Piras (flute, already logged in "Third eye light") and Roberto Minniti (the new vocalist). The album is dedicated to the memory of Paolo Raciti (who died a few years ago) that had contributed to the realization of the first two chapters by Eris Pluvia. A job, "Different earths", mild, crepuscular, never over the top, at times melancholic, made with extreme sophistication, but at the same time of significant usability.
Each listening of the nine tracks allow to get new shades, demonstration in what the band has been working by chisel to offer new emotions. A thin-fil rouge connects the various tracks: the impact, often negative, that human behavior has on planet Earth that leads to pollution growth, frequent wars, natural disasters ... A "complaint" album ( sung in English), but not only, as the closing "The Door of My Soul" (dedicated to Raciti), inspired by William Blake, tries to interpret what’s over life. A sound often very delicate reminiscent of Camel, which does not exclude some "floydian" raid (the guitar of Cavatorti) and in the first post-Gabriel Genesis, but that remains very personal.
Appreciable the voice of Minniti, that without special vocal acrobatics, "colors" the best pastelspalette of the band sound, ennobled by an exciting use of the flute. The  simplification of some drum parts does not affect at all the compositions,that flow fluid and rich in atmosphere. Now we come to some of the album highlights. Wonderful acoustics introduction of "Man on a rope" with guitar, piano, a soft rhythmic and the voice of Minniti. An important "acceleration" topped by a beautiful guitar-solo and then the song returns to the initial acoustic tracks always with the guitar in the foreground. Delicate, almost murmured and highly evocative is "Aqua", four minutes of pure enchantment. Also good "Poet's Island" with the whisper of the flute, the slight voice, an essential rhythm and connecting keyboards: music that seems to caress, gentle and graceful as ever. More obscure "Black Rainbow" with the Piras flute softens insightful interventionsof the electric guitar of Cavatorti. Bright also "Heroes of the Dark Star" with a lovely instrumental section, at first very "pulled", then more subdued with the flute to match the latter stages of the long track. Another exciting pearl is "Springtime drop" also including acoustic guitar and flute. Closes the album "The door of My Soul" pervaded by a subtle melancholy and ideal conclusion of a journey, that one of "Different earths", rich in character and strong emotions. One feature, to arouse considerable emotions, which always ennobled the music of Eris Pluvia and that makes us love them unconditionally. Needless to say, we are facing a truly magnificent album that is due to have.
